When you're evaluating LSR injection molding machines from an overseas supplier, certification logos on a company website can start to blur together. ISO 9001, CE, CCC — they all sound reassuring, but they don't all mean the same thing, and they don't all matter for the same reasons. Understanding what each certification actually covers will help you ask better questions during due diligence and avoid assuming a certificate guarantees something it doesn't.

Why choose LSR injection molding Liquid Silicone Solution

07/25/2025

Introduction

Do you consider processing plants based on solid molding are losing their advantages and gradually shifting from solid to LSR injection molding technology. This is an inevitable trend! In addition to environmental reasons, what other reasons lead to this trend?

What is LSR injection molding?

Solid silicone products primarily use solid-state raw materials. Manufacturers typically heat the material using rollers to achieve a soft consistency (similar to chewing gum, where the product remains intact when chewed but becomes soft after chewing).

After adding curing agents, the material is processed through molds in a flat-bed vulcanizer under high temperatures to produce products of varying hardness. In contrast, injection molding machine produce uniformly hard products when using LSR injection molding molds for liquid silicone materials.

Why choose LSR injection moulding Solution?

Energy Consumption

Silicone rubber production primarily utilizes auxiliary materials including raw silicone, vulcanizing agents, and color pigments. Compared to injection molding processes, solid silicone molds hold a distinct cost advantage. While solid silicone molds outperform liquid counterparts in the industry due to their relatively lower raw material costs and liquid silicone's price advantage, they suffer from high energy consumption.

Efficiency

Each LSR injection molding mold release generates temperatures of 200-300°C, accompanied by harsh working conditions with excessive noise levels that compromise worker health.

Additionally, manual operation presents significant challenges, as each product requires 10 separate processing steps. Consequently, a single production line demands 7-10 workers to maintain efficiency.

Process

Liquid silicone rubber (LSR) is primarily processed through automated injection molding machine. The production process involves injecting liquid silicone material into molds and automatically closing them during processing.

Key stages include raw material loading, machine debugging, and intelligent control systems that manage sealing, fluid flow, automatic mold ejection, and feeding.

This smart CNC frequency conversion system ensures energy efficiency and streamlined operations, allowing a single operator to manage multiple injection molding machines simultaneously.

The final product achieves high quality with no flash or burrs. As the manufacturing process maintains complete sealing, it provides exceptional surface protection.

Eco-friendly

Due to the fast curing speed required for environmental compliance, liquid silicone rubber has become essential in medical devices and infant products that come into contact with human skin.

Secondly, in terms of safety, liquid silicone is a highly transparent and safe food-grade material. During molding, no vulcanizing agents or auxiliary materials are added; it undergoes sealed feeding and molding. Solid silicone, being a transparent eco-friendly material, requires vulcanization agents during the LSR injection molding process, necessitating open mold feeding for the molding period.

How to control

The liquid silicone injection molding machine is fully computer controlled, with accurate measurement and uniform mixing. It adopts the static mixer and static pressure injection method, and is equipped with hydraulic or pneumatic nozzle. The converging plate, injection tube and nozzle are equipped with cooling water channel. It is easy to clean, reducing manpower and material waste.
